L.I.Q.S. has many talented quilters who periodically share their talent with members at workshops. Our member teachers are given a stipend for these events.
Each July at our guild meeting we have a “station rotation” where members move from table to table to have a mini lesson taught by a member. In addition to techniques, members have also learned how to make guild sponsored quilt blocks and the ornaments for the Festival of Trees.
In the fall we sponsor an event called, Quilt the Day Away, where members choose from six projects and work on them with a member teacher for the day. In the past members have learned paper piecing, pocketbook making, crazy quilting and made quilts of valor. We try to provide varied experiences so whether you are a hand or machine quilter there is something for you. In addition to the sewing we have a wonderful lunch and raffles. There is a nominal charge for this event because of the luncheon provided.
