Member Workshops:2024

L.I.Q.S. has many talented quilters who periodically share their talent with members at workshops. Our member teachers are given a stipend for these events.

On Monday, April 15,  at our evening guild meeting we will have a “station rotation” where members move from table to table to have a mini lesson taught by a member.  ( In the past,  in addition to techniques, members have also learned how to make guild sponsored quilt blocks and the ornaments for the Festival of Trees.)

On Saturday, June 1, a "Quilt the Day Away" program is planned with member workshops.  It will be at the Merrick Golf Course from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. The Guild will provide the teachers, the food for lunch and raffles.  The cost to members is $20.  Registration is limited to 8 people per class.  If there is still room after the May 20 General Meeting, non-members will be invited to attend.
Classes offered are:  Criss Cross Apron/ Tee Shirt Quilt/ Attic Window Quilt/ Cathedral Window Pillow/ Chandelier Quilt/ Freedom Quilt/ and Walk About.   For further information and to access the registration form go to WORKSHOPS.

In the past, Quilt the Day Away, had members choose from six projects and work on them with a member teacher for the day.  Formerly,  members have learned paper piecing, pocketbook making, crazy quilting and made quilts of valor. We try to provide varied experiences so whether you are a hand or machine quilter there is something for you. In addition to the sewing we have a wonderful lunch and raffles. There is a nominal charge for this event because of the luncheon provided.
